International Student Admissions Process

We welcome students from around the world to join the Hydrostone Academy community. Embracing students from diverse backgrounds enriches our school’s cultural environment, providing students with a unique, globally aware learning experience. Below are the steps involved in applying as an international student.

Initial Inquiry

If you’re interested in our International Student Program, start by filling out an Admissions Inquiry Form. Our Admissions Team will be in touch to guide you through the next steps.

Application

English Language Proficiency: Proof of English proficiency is required (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL, KET, PET, etc.) at the time of application. If you need to complete a proficiency test, we can connect you with the Halifax Language Institute for an online Oxford English Test. Note: International students who need additional support in English pay additional fees along with tuition.

Once you’re ready to apply, submit a completed Application Form along with the application fee, academic transcripts, teacher recommendations, and proof of English Language Proficiency.

Meeting and Assessment

Once all application documents are received, we’ll arrange a virtual meeting to ensure a good academic and social fit. For applicants working with an agent, this interview is generally a brief online meeting prior to acceptance. Students applying independently will need to complete a more in-depth interview to assess English language proficiency and overall readiness.

Acceptance

Following the meeting, our admissions team will make a recommendation. Within a week, we’ll issue a Conditional Letter of Acceptance. Please note that final acceptance may depend on obtaining the necessary study permit and travel documentation.

Fees

Schedule of Payments

Tuition is typically paid in full by June 30th. Payment timing may depend on when study permits and travel documentation are approved. Alternate payment arrangements can be discussed if needed.
